Sleep on your side or back, as directed by Dr. Alfe. Ensure that your pillow provides adequate support for your neck, preventing excessive extension or flexion. Try NEVER to sleep on your stomach.

Limit your food choices to easy-to-eat foods. Avoid hard, crunchy foods like nuts, popcorn, raw vegetables as well as tough or chewy foods like taffy, beef jerky, chewing gum, etc.

Stifle your yawns by placing your fist under your lower jaw while yawning.

Avoid opening excessively whenever possible.

See your other health care providers: physical therapist, chiropractor, acupuncturist, etc. as directed.

Notify Dr. Alfe of any changes in your medications at each visit.

Keep your journal with as much detail as possible.
Note how you feel upon awakening.
Did you sleep on your back or side the previous night?
Note any changes (positive or negative) in your teeth, muscles, ears, shoulders, neck, etc.
Keep track of how long you are wearing your daytime NTI, how you feel before you place it, while wearing it and when you remove it.
